Rawhide was a carryover from 1976 to 1977 when Stern took over Chicago Coins line. It was the same machine with the names changed to protect the innocent. This one's from Hoppy and was clean but had a fever. Now it's all better and playing crisp and cool. It has some unique features like a captive ball in a corral, and a heavy spinner. The chimes are mellow, albeit rare. Towards the end of Christian Marche's pin art career, this has no pointy people, but lots of cowgirls. A pretty fast game that's not that easy to beat. There's 2 flyers shown, one from Chicago Coin, and one from Stern so you can see, they just took over production without changing anything, unfortunately. This machine has a lot of design flaws and is always giving me problems.

Produced by Stern, 1977. 4 players. 8 out of 10 on the Play-O-Meter

High Score 264,790 by Bryan C on July 23, 2005
