Surfers
October 19, 2005
This is a pinball I got from a private sale of 3 pins up in El Sobrante from a place that had a lot of cats, none of them very friendly with me but they loved marking those pins. Took a while to get the smell out but it didn't take much to get this going. Debbie was moving to New Mexico, my old home state to be with her daughter and this was a divorce sale. It is a somewhat rare pin as less than a thousand were made. Jerry Kelly is the artist which makes it more scarce and this is one of his best. There is a lot going on in the glass and the playfield, see if you can spot what's going on with the girls bikini. (Hint, look for the pelican), and what's up with the blind balloon guy? This pin has interesting play and with the light the ballons for credit, Zipper Flippers and right hand channel is similar to Mini Zag. Not an easy machine, it is hard to make points on, even harder to score on those ballon specials. The mushroom bumpers sprinkled throughout lite up "Surfers" and each completion gets you a balloon, seven of those gets a game. Other M B's advance the "Ring A Ding" up to a max of 500 which you collect by landing in the upper right kickout and open and close the zipper flippers. It has a left out lane kicker and right lane ball gate. Not for big flipper enthusiasts, it's always a challange, and I love the artwork!
